The Edinburgh Award for Flash Fiction 2024 is now open.
They welcome stories from any genre - provided they can be told in no more than 250 words (not including the title).
The competition opened on June 1st, and the deadline is August 31st. Prizes range from £150 to £2000, and it costs £10 per entry.
They have a section for "flash fiction" and one for "true flash".
If you fancy giving it a try, then you can find the details here - https://www.scottishartstrust.org/flash
If you fancy trying the format, but don't want to commit to the competition, or the fee, then "flash" on the group page, or send them to me at davidwordworker@gmail.com and I can list them below or send them round in a group email.
I'd love to hear feedback on the pieces as well and can keep that anonymous if you'd like.
I'm definitely going to try it. 250 words. Why not?
