I was in the Book Nook in Stewarton today. I'd gone there from the library because my soul was in need of more soothing!

Book shops are such special places, aren't they?

Sarah, who owns the shop, told me about some plans to celebrate Bookshop Day on the 12th of October. I mentioned that when I had set it as a prompt in the writing group the themes of bookshops always brought a fun and touching crop of stories.

Have you got one?

Could you come up with one?

Prose or poem.

I was thinking of putting together a little pamphlet, to be given away free - and perhaps read out - in the shop, full of writing actually about bookshops.

There's no money involved. Bookshops don't make money. They are much more important than that! They are palaces/temples/castles of dreams. This would be for the appreciation and the joy of it.

Are you in?

Get in touch, or send in your ideas, at davidwordworker@gmail.com

Thank you, kindred spirits!
